The Dalton Bulldogs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Chippewa Chipps at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dalton has seven straight wins, Chippewa has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Dalton was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They snuck past Norwayne with a 34-29 victory.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Chippewa had to settle for a 16-14 loss against Waynedale on Friday.
Dalton's victory was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Northwestern and 2-8 Chippewa (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.3% over those games). As for Chippewa, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything came up roses for Dalton against Chippewa in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 47-7 victory. Does Dalton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chippewa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
