North Brunswick had lost 12 games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-12 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Metuchen Bulldogs 8-6. The North Brunswick Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

As for Metuchen, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered against North Brunswick since May 11, 2015.

For Metuchen's part, Jon Nugent put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Nugent was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
