The Maricopa Indians suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Valley Christian Academy at home and fell 68-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Maricopa has suffered against Valley Christian Academy since December 10, 2019.
Despite the loss, Maricopa still got an impressive performance from Nathaniel Stroud, who scored 19 points along with six steals. That was a full 51.4% of Maricopa's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Grysko, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Maricopa has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Valley Christian Academy, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Maricopa will head out on the road to challenge San Luis Obispo Classical Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. San Luis Obispo Classical Academy will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Valley Christian Academy will take on Santa Ynez at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
