The Bandys Trojans will look to defend their home court on Friday against the South Caldwell Spartans at 6:30 p.m. Bandys comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Bandys had to settle for a 54-51 defeat against South Iredell.
Despite the defeat, Bandys had strong showings from Kate Dutka, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Naudia Summerville, who scored 17 points along with 6 steals and 5 assists. Dutka is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Rachel Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, South Caldwell was fully in charge on Wednesday, breezing past Bunker Hill 60-24 on the road. With South Caldwell ahead 44-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
It was another big night for Lillie Bumgarner, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristin Barber, who scored 8 points.
The losses dropped Bandys to 0-3 and South Iredell to 1-1.
Bandys came up short against South Caldwell when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 40-27. Thankfully for Bandys, Kaylee Anderson (who scored 21 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
