Punahou gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over the Mid-Pacific Institute Owls. That's more bragging rights for the Buff n' Blue, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lexi Hinahara and Fa'Atam?li'I (Li'I) Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Hinahara went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while Brown went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Taryn Ho, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Coming up, Punahou will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against 'Iolani at 4:00 p.m. As for Mid-Pacific Institute, they will challenge Maryknoll at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mid-Pacific Institute is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak dating back to last season.
