The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sergeant Bluff-Luton in their matchups with Dakota Valley: they've now lost four in a row.
Dakota Valley found their leader in underclassman Ella Otten, who scored 22 points along with six steals. The match was Otten's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Worden, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Sergeant Bluff-Luton's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Dakota Valley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sergeant Bluff-Luton will take on Sioux City North at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sioux City North is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Dakota Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Central at 6:30 p.m. West Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Dakota Rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Dakota Valley is ranked 20th).
