Basketball Game Preview: Pensacola Catholic Crusaders vs. Milton Panthers

Pensacola Catholic is 0-10 against Milton since January of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Pensacola Catholic Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Milton Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Pensacola Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.

Pensacola Catholic is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Tate: they outscored them in every quarter. Pensacola Catholic enjoyed a cozy 48-29 victory over Tate on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Pensacola Catholic found their leader in freshman Danielle Gulley, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 steals. Those 11 steals gave Gulley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Morgan Smith, who posted five points and 16 boards.

Pensacola Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 20 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Milton sidestepped Jay for a 41-38 win.

Milton is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points per game. As for Pensacola Catholic, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Things could have been worse for Pensacola Catholic, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 41-23 loss to Milton in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Pensacola Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
