Football Recap: Mathews Skates Past Cardinal with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mathews). They claimed a resounding 56-15 victory over the Cardinal Huskies. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Mathews and bumps their season record up to 3-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 29 points in those games. As for Cardinal, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mathews is set to face off against their familiar foe St. John at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cardinal will take on rival Grand Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
