AMARILLO, Texas - After six lead changes,
Randall (Amarillo, Texas) took the lead for good when
Collin Bowen ran for a touchdown with 1:00 to go in the third quarter and held on to defeat
Palo Duro (Amarillo, Texas) 27-23 on Saturday.
The Raiders led 7-6 at halftime, but the Dons recaptured the lead on a
Tyler Junell touchdown run with 11:00 to go in the third.
Randall expanded its lead to four points entering the fourth quarter. RHS scored three times in the third, including once on a Bowen touchdown run.
Bowen and Junell ran for a bunch of touchdowns for Palo Duro. Bowen scored two touchdowns on the ground and Junell added two as well.
Montrel Meander played well for PD. The senior ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
A 45-20 Randall victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
Randall (7-0) goes up against Amarillo in a 4A Region I District 3 game matchup next week, while Palo Duro (4-3) locks horns with Dumas also in a 4A Region I District 3 game.
