Western extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-19. They came up short against the North Adams Green Devils, falling 21-1. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Green Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
As for North Adams, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-4. Considering they have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
For North Adams' part, Marnie Tolle and Carlee Garrison made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Tolle tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Garrison pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 21 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Tolle got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two RBI, and one double, while Garrison got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Garrison has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, North Adams got a massive performance out of Ahlyesa Taylor, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. What's more, Taylor posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Woods, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western will venture away from home to face off against Eastern at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Adams, they will head out to square off against Williamsburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Green Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
