While Plainfield's win against Mooresville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Quakers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Pioneers on Wednesday. The Quakers haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Kylie Fish made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Ava Broyles and Krista Haberkorn did most of the damage at the plate: Broyles went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs, while Haberkorn went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Maci Hanlin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Plainfield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.

Plainfield's record is now 14-7. As for Mooresville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Plainfield will challenge Roncalli at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Quakers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mooresville, they will take on Center Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
