AAAA Region II recap September 17, 2013
Dorman added to the longest winning streak in AAAA Region II this week by beating Hillcrest, 22-19. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Boiling Springs took down Clover 48-21 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Byrnes's dynamic duo of Shuler Bentley and Tavin Richardson proved to be unstoppable against Northwestern, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Bentley threw for 408 yards and 3 touchdowns and Richardson had 156 yards receiving. Shaedon Meadors helped Byrnes' passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 73 yards.
The Rebels' dynamic duo of Bentley and Richardson proved tough for the Trojans to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Bentley put up the best numbers through the air as Byrnes fell to Northwestern.
Hyleck Foster was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 29 carries, he ran for 186 yards as Gaffney lost to Kyle Richardson's team. Teammate Eddie Studyvance added to the ground attack by rushing for 64 yards.
He was 29-40 with 2 interceptions.
Richardson was the best wideout in the league this week as the Rebels fell to the Trojans.
Leading AAAA Region II in both passing and receiving yards, Byrnes' Bentley and Richardson have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Bentley has thrown for 1,226 yards this season, while Richardson has 20 catches for 311 yards. The Indians' Foster leads the league in rushing yards with 489.
Dorman and the Rams played the most contested game in the league this week, with Dorman eventually emerging with a 22-19 victory.
