The Ferndale Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Warren Woods-Tower Titans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ferndale has three straight wins, Warren Woods-Tower has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Ferndale got the win against Southfield Arts & Tech by a conclusive 25-6. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Matthew Trumpy was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for Ferndale: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-12-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, Taylor Williams was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Henry Updyke, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Ferndale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Warren Woods-Tower lost 12-2 to Cousino on Wednesday.
Ferndale's record now sits at 8-13-1. As for Warren Woods-Tower, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Ferndale got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 against Warren Woods-Tower by a conclusive 17-3 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
