Lanier and Brackenridge are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Voks will welcome the Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lanier will be strutting in after a victory while Brackenridge will be coming in after a loss.
Lanier is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Jefferson with a sharp 16-5 win on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Voks as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Klarissa Fuentes was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fuentes was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That hit was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Miley Lopez was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Serenity Vega was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Lanier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson only posted an OBP of .500.
Meanwhile, Brackenridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Seguin, falling 17-2.
Joselynn Herrera was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Lanier's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-10. As for Brackenridge, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.
Everything went Lanier's way against Brackenridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Lanier made off with a 19-6 victory. Do the Voks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
