The Tomball Cougars won the last time they faced the Klein Bearkats, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Tomball walked away with a 42-33 win over Klein. Given Tomball's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 197th, while Klein is ranked 477th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tomball to victory, but perhaps none more so than Danielle Oyakhire, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds. Oyakhire hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Zullo, who scored six points along with seven steals.
Tomball is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Klein, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 15-14.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Klein Oak the next time they take the court. Tomball will head out to face Klein Oak at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Klein will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
