Baseball Recap: Saint Viator Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Saint Viator unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 10-4 to the Lake Zurich Bears. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 11-6.

Jonathan Tschanz was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double. Saint Viator is 5-1 when Tschanz posts two or more runs, but 11-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Thomsen, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Saint Viator's loss dropped their record down to 16-15. As for Lake Zurich, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-9.

While Saint Viator had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
