After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sheridan, Herron was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Tindley Tigers as they made off with a 13-2 win. Considering the Achaeans have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jordyn Ault made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Herron got a massive performance out of Evelyn Grimes, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Grimes a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elena Newsom, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Herron now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Tindley, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
Coming up, Herron will face off against Covenant Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tindley, they are taking a road trip to square off against Mooresville Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
