The Luling Eagles had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Prairie Lea by a score of 48-41 on Friday.
Luling can attribute much of their success to Skylar Dredla, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Dredla has scored at least 25% of Luling's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janeese Flowers, who scored 14 points.
Luling's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 1-9. As for Prairie Lea, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Luling will be home for the holidays to greet Blanco at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Prairie Lea will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Flatonia at 1:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
