The Canton Little Giants have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. The match between Canton and Morton wasn't particularly close, with Canton falling 49-30. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Canton has scored all season.
Several Little Giants players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Allison Wheeler, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Demler, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Canton's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Morton, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5.
Canton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Orr at 1:00 p.m. on January 15th. Orr is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Morton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mahomet-Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mahomet-Seymour will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 298th, while Morton is ranked 29th).
