Copiah Academy took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 32-22 victory over the St. Joseph Catholic Bruins. The Colonels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bruins, too.

When it comes to explaining why St. Joseph Catholic lost, don't look at Syrone McBeath. Despite the final result, he rushed for 44 yards and three scores. Aj Harris also helped out with an impressive 99 receiving yards.

St. Joseph Catholic dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Copiah Academy will venture away from home to face off against Adams County Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Joseph Catholic, they will welcome St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
