With a playoff win on the line, Mechanicville rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Saranac Spartans as they made off with an 11-2 win. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Mechanicville, bringing their record up to 17-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Saranac, their loss ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-4.

Coming up, Mechanicville will challenge Canton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Red Raiders 3.9, the Golden Bears 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Saranac does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
