Softball Recap: College Place Wins Going Away Against Zillah

While College Place put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Zillah. The Hawks put the hurt on the Leopards with a sharp 11-0 win. Considering the Hawks have won nine contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Audrey Schilds was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Adrienne Berube, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: College Place kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

College Place's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Zillah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, College Place will take on Freeman at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Zillah, they will head out on the road to challenge Prosser at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
