Softball Recap: Fair Grove Has No Trouble Against Pierce City

Fair Grove won the last time they faced Pierce City and things went their way on Thursday too. Fair Grove put the hurt on Pierce City with a sharp 17-4 victory. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for Fair Grove this season.

Fair Grove got a massive performance out of Hali Stokes, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Nunley, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Fair Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Fair Grove is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. Pierce City is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fair Grove will challenge El Dorado Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pierce City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Verona at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Pierce City is facing Verona at the right time seeing as Verona is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
