It was a good run, but Hillman unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 67-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alcona Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Hillman this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-44 back in December of 2024.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brenden Rouleau, who posted 20 points. Rouleau has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Crane, who had 13 points and seven rebounds.
Leading Alcona to victory were Gavin Dellar and Edju Hechlik. Dellar went 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds, while Hechlik almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Borsvold, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.
Hillman's loss ended an 18-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4. As for Alcona, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillman will host Fairview at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hillman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.
