San Juan has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They and the Grand County Red Devils will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-28, which was the final score in San Juan's tilt against the Braves on Saturday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for San Juan in their matchups with the Braves: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Grand County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Duchesne.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Cadence Kasprick, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ainsleigh Kasprick, who scored 16 points.
San Juan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Grand County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
San Juan came up short against the Red Devils in their previous matchup back in January, falling 46-38. Can San Juan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
