Basketball Game Preview: Guilderland Flying Dutchmen vs. Niskayuna Silver Warriors

The Guilderland Flying Dutchmen will head out on the road to challenge the Niskayuna Silver Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Guilderland will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Shaker, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Guilderland managed a 65-59 win over Shaker on Friday.

Olivia Bigness was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted eight points and five rebounds. Bigness is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Niskayuna's strategy against Schenectady on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Niskayuna blew Schenectady out of the water with a 72-20 final score. The game marked the Silver Warriors' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Niskayuna now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Guilderland, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Guilderland was able to grind out a solid victory over Niskayuna in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 52-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Guilderland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
