After flying high against the Croton-Harmon Tigers last Saturday, the Hendrick Hudson Sailors came back down to earth. Hendrick Hudson fell 42-32 to John Jay on Monday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hendrick Hudson has scored all season.
Hendrick Hudson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hailey Pearson, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pearson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kayla McCarthy, who scored six points along with three steals.
Hendrick Hudson's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for John Jay, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
Hendrick Hudson won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ossining at 4:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hendrick Hudson is coming into the match with eight straight defeats at home, meaning Ossining will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for John Jay, they will head out on the road to square off against Nyack at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
