Trinity dropped to 7-8 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Butler County Bears, falling 14-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on Monday.
Trinity saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cale Boarman, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Graysen Wright also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
As for Butler County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.
On Butler County's side, Sam Hyatt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hyatt also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Butler County is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise. Hyatt was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Brody Dockery and Evan Darsey did most of the damage at the plate: Dockery got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Darsey got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Butler County is 2-1 when Darsey posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Thomas Embry was another key player, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.
