There's no place like home for the Cedar Creek Cougars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 72-71 win over Georgetown. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Connor Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Doan, who scored 20 points along with six assists and three steals.
Cedar Creek's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Georgetown, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Creek will square off against St. Frederick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Georgetown, Georgetown and Calvin will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Calvin is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
