After six games on the road, San Jacinto Valley Academy is heading back home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard on Tuesday.
On Monday, San Jacinto Valley Academy came up short against Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School and fell 81-71. Even though they lost, San Jacinto Valley Academy's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.2 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite their defeat, San Jacinto Valley Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. James Henderson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Henderson has scored all season. Nahamani Hamala was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.
Even though they lost, San Jacinto Valley Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Desert Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 71-59 win over Santa Rosa Academy.
San Jacinto Valley Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Desert Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 18-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
