The Judge Memorial Catholic Bulldogs fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 27-19 victory over Grand County on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Judge Memorial Catholic also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2022.
Judge Memorial Catholic can attribute much of their success to Tyrese Boyce, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. Boyce was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
When it comes to explaining why Grand County lost, one person who can't be blamed is JT Dowd. Despite the final result, he rushed for 98 yards and three touchdowns.
Judge Memorial Catholic's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Grand County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Judge Memorial Catholic will face off against San Juan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. San Juan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Judge Memorial Catholic likes a good challenge. Grand County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
