In what's become a running theme this season, the Bessemer Academy Rebels gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They claimed a resounding 79-25 victory over Monroe Academy at home. Winning may never get old, but Bessemer Academy sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Jacob Brister, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Tyseon Smith was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Bessemer Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points per game. As for Monroe Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Bessemer Academy the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Clarke Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Clarke Prep is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Monroe Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Morgan Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
