Fort Wayne Snider hasn't had much luck against Homestead recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Panthers will head out to take on the Spartans at 10:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Homestead will be up against a hot Fort Wayne Snider team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over Fort Wayne Wayne on Thursday.

Landen Fry was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Brandon Logan and Isaiah Snavely did most of the damage at the plate: Logan got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs, while Snavely got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Logan has posted since back in April of 2024. Cam Davis was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, Homestead had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They never let the Bruins get on the board and left with a 10-0 win.
Evan Anderson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shane Bardwell, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Blake Melton also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Homestead always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Wayne Northrop only posted an OBP of .167.
Homestead's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Fort Wayne Snider, their record now sits at 13-3.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fort Wayne Snider hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like Homestead struggles in that department as they've averaged .340. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fort Wayne Snider skirted past Homestead 7-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
