The Parkview Christian Patriots can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Lewiston by a score of 47-17 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). That looming 47-17 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Parkview Christian yet this season.
It was another big night for Merryl Paul, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maria Pastrelo, who scored six points along with six steals and five assists.
Despite the loss, Lewiston saw an underclassman step up: Justice Currie scored seven points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Currie is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Even though they lost, Lewiston smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Parkview Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Lewiston, they bumped their record down to 0-12 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Parkview Christian will take on Elmwood-Murdock on Tuesday. Elmwood-Murdock is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for Lewiston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Johnson-Brock at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Johnson-Brock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
