The Baker County Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Trinity Catholic Celtics at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Baker County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Trinity Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Monday, Baker County came up short against Montverde Academy and fell 5-2. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly three runs.
Baker County got a good showing from Grace Masterson, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Masterson has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Trinity Catholic hadn't done well against Bishop Moore recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Trinity Catholic was the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Bishop Moore. The Celtics might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.
Caylee Barbe was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Barbe was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julianna Ortega, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hailey Wilson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Trinity Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Baker County and nudges their season record down to 7-2-1.
