Greenbrier West fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 62-59. Greenbrier West has not had much luck with the Mavericks recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
James Monroe's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Ridgeway, who scored 16 points along with six assists. Ridgeway is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Brady Baker was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Greenbrier West's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for James Monroe, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Greenbrier West is on the road again on Monday and plays the Red Devils at 11:00 a.m. on February 5th. As for James Monroe, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Bobcats at 7:15 p.m. on January 31st.
