After flying high against the Blue River Valley Vikings last Saturday, the Union County Patriots came back down to earth. Union County took a hard 42-24 fall against Connersville on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Union County has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Union County still got an impressive performance from Katie McCashland, who scored nine points along with four steals. McCashland has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Connersville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hailey Sembach, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ahniyah Bennett, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Union County's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Connersville, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
Union County will head out on the road to square off against Eastern Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Eastern Hancock will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. Connersville will take on Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
