Spring Lake came out on top against Zeeland East on Tuesday thanks in part to Ava Twa's efforts. Twa struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best she's had all season long. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Twa's strong effort led Spring Lake over Zeeland East and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chix are limping into the matchup having lost six straight at home dating back to last season.
