Ithaca (Mich.) pulled away early with 28 points in the first quarter to open up a 28-point lead, paving the way to a 56-0 victory over Breckenridge (Mich.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Travis Smith in the first quarter, the Yellowjackets led 42-0 at the half.
Ithaca expanded its lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. IHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run.
Smith was the top performer for the Yellowjackets. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
A 48-0 Ithaca victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss was the third in a row for the Huskies. With the win IHS extended its winning streak to three games.
Breckenridge (0-3) will play a Tri-Valley - West game against St. Charles next week, while Ithaca (3-0) will take on Merrill also in a Tri-Valley - West game.
