Nueva Esperanza were the 48-42 winner over Franklin Towne when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Nueva Esperanza was beaten by Franklin Towne 70-36 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Nueva Esperanza can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 654th, while Franklin Towne is ranked 254th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin Towne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon Leaks, who scored 13 points along with four steals. The match was Leaks' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Antwan Fortune, who scored 11 points.
Nueva Esperanza are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for Franklin Towne, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Nueva Esperanza will be playing at home against Hill Freedman World Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin Towne, they will head out on the road to face off against Franklin Learning Center at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
