Lake Norman is a perfect 6-0 against West Cabarrus since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lake Norman Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the West Cabarrus Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Lake Norman's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while West Cabarrus has been banged up by 11 consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Lake Norman challenged Foard on Friday. Lake Norman sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over Foard.

Charlee Kelly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Vivian Billard was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Harris, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Billard wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Lake Norman lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, West Cabarrus came into Friday's matchup having lost 19 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against Olympic on Friday as West Cabarrus made off with a 16-1 win. Considering the Wolverines' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Brooklyn Brower made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-low in hits. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kamryn Weaks, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Ayana Baptist was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
West Cabarrus' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lake Norman, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Everything went Lake Norman's way against West Cabarrus when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Lake Norman made off with a 16-6 win. Will Lake Norman repeat their success, or does West Cabarrus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
