The Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack are taking a road trip to challenge the Somerset Academy Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
On Tuesday, Schoolhouse Prep didn't have quite enough to beat Florida Christian and fell 3-1. The matchup marked the Wolfpack's lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Schoolhouse Prep saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sofia Villa, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Villa has hit this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Somerset Academy). They never let South Plantation get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Wednesday. The Panthers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19, 2025 (when they won 10-0).
Caitlyn Diaz made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amber Munoz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Kelsey Gonzalez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
Somerset Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory made it two in a row for Somerset Academy and bumps their season record up to 2-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Schoolhouse Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Schoolhouse Prep might still be hurting after the 11-3 loss they got from Somerset Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Wolfpack avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
