The Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors waltzed into their game on Monday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 59-51 victory over Bradford Academy. That's another feather in the cap for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Levi Gaskins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 21 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Autry, who scored nine points.
Bradford Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elisha McDorman, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Patrick Crotts was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Asheboro Hybrid Academy pushed their record up to 11-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Bradford Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Asheboro Hybrid Academy will head out on the road to challenge Community Baptist at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Asheboro Hybrid Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday. Bradford Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
