The Delaware Academy Bulldogs were the 64-30 winner over the Walton Warriors when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. Delaware Academy fell 44-34 to the Warriors on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Delaware Academy came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Warriors are ranked 433rd).
Leading Walton to victory were Eve Foster and Grace Walley. Foster scored ten points along with three steals, while Walley almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds. Walley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Abigail Wright, who scored five points along with two steals.
Delaware Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Walton, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Delaware Academy will be playing at home against the Team at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Walton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
