Basketball Recap: Bethel Baptist Academy Find Success

On Friday, the Bethel Baptist Academy Miners didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Fairwinds Christian Knights, but they still walked away with a 44-39 win.

Nathan Stahl was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 23 rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Nick Rizzon was another key player, putting up 11 points and five steals.

Bethel Baptist Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairwinds Christian only pulled down three offensive rebounds.

Solomon McCloud and Kadon Jackson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. McCloud went 7 of 11 on his way to 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Jackson went 7 of 10 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. That was a full 43.6% of Fairwinds Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

The victory got Bethel Baptist Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Fairwinds Christian, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Bethel Baptist Academy will head out to challenge Solid Rock Christian School at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairwinds Christian, they will welcome Calvary Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
