After a string of three wins, the Chaputnguak Shaman's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Akula Elitnaurvik. Even though they lost, Chaputnguak's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
When it comes to explaining why Chaputnguak lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ashton Matthew. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points. Felagai Laumea was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Chaputnguak now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Akula Elitnaurvik, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Chaputnguak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 102-55 win vs. Nuniwarmiut on the 10th. Akula Elitnaurvik does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
