Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Spanish Springs). They came out on top against the Truckee Wolverines by a score of 16-13 on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on four straight.
Nery Gonzalez was incredible, going 4-for-6 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bo Kindred, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Spanish Springs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Truckee only posted a batting average of .290.
Spanish Springs' win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Truckee, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Coming up, Spanish Springs will take on San Clemente in a tournament on Saturday.
