Heritage (Littleton, Colo.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 28-7 win over
Palmer (Colorado Springs, Colo.).
The Eagles put up seven points in the opening frame. Heritage scored on a touchdown run by
Andrew Shaffer.
After taking the lead on an Shaffer touchdown run in the first quarter, HHS led 21-0 at the half.
The Littleton school saw its 21-point halftime lead decrease to 14 entering the fourth.
Palmer's lone touchdown came on a defensive touchdown in the third quarter.
The Eagles has had a tough season, allowing 33.8 points per game. But Heritage tightened up and held the Terrors right around their season average of 5.4 points per game.
Palmer (0-6) goes up against Rock Canyon in a 5A Pioneer game matchup next week, while Heritage (3-3) locks horns with Legend also in a 5A Pioneer game.
