The Maysville Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 51-22 loss at the hands of Milan. Maysville has not had much luck with Milan recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Leading Milan to victory were Violet Gray and Avery Pickering. Gray scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Pickering dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. Gray hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Marian Dabney, who scored nine points along with three blocks.
Maysville's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.5 points per game. As for Milan, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Maysville will head out on the road to face off against East Buchanan at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Milan, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Atlanta at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Atlanta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 315th, while Milan is ranked 119th).
