The Iron Academy Swordsmen's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of American Leadership Academy-Johnston.
American Leadership Academy-Johnston found their leader in underclassman Ben Allen, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. Allen is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. Tristin Groves was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Iron Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.
Iron Academy will face off against NC GBB Academy on Tuesday. NC GBB Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 373 points over their last six contests. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Howard at 6:30 p.m.
